Our ‘circumstantial objects’ are
unconventional articles created to provoke a unique emotion each time a
viewer contemplates its raw powers of beauty through the patina of time,
adversity, oxidation, care, wear, tear, use, neglect, inattention and
simply ‘being’ or existing.
Our primary focus is on the mixed media objects we call ‘circumstantial
objects’ because of our guiding aesthetics philosophy that nearly
everything gains beauty, character and uniqueness as it ages. Our
experience has taught us the circumstances we find and use the materials
in our works helps to create a state of appreciation and interest in
our objects. We use random, unpredictable raw materials in their
native, found condition. Our goal is to combine these discovered items
in a circumstantial process to form an object that is a very interesting
thing to look at.
